Denmark pairs world-class marine and offshore construction expertise with a deeply rooted ecological mindset — making it an ideal setting for advancing nature-inclusive infrastructure.
ECOncrete Hav, our new Danish office, will collaborate locally on marine infrastructure that restores habitat and builds resilience in the North Sea and beyond.
A Powerhouse in Marine Construction and Green Thinking
Denmark is recognized globally as a leader in offshore wind and as a country where ecological values are embedded in policy, culture, and industry. From scaling offshore energy to setting ambitious goals for marine biodiversity restoration, Denmark provides the conditions for solutions that merge engineering with ecology. ECOncrete Hav will serve as a platform to bring these dual priorities together, offering local support to Nordic stakeholders.
“We are delighted to welcome ECOncrete to Denmark. It’s an opportunity to rethink our approach to marine construction, which will become increasingly important as we continue to build out coastal protection, ports and offshore infrastructure.” – Vanessa Vega Saenz, Director Invest in Denmark (Read Full Announcement from August 2025)
Our decision to establish in Denmark reflects more than geography — it is about shared values and a shared vision: infrastructure that works with nature rather than against it.
Infrastructure That Works With Nature
ECOncrete is the first and leading provider of eco-engineered, science-based solutions designed to meet critical infrastructure needs while restoring and supporting marine ecosystems (Planning Infrastructure as Habitat for Biodiversity).
Backed by more than a decade of proven results and long-term monitoring data, ECOncrete technology consistently enhances biodiversity on seawalls, breakwaters, and offshore foundations worldwide. By turning conventional “grey” infrastructure into living, blue-green ecosystems, we are setting a new standard for climate resilience and nature-positive marine construction.
Partnering With Danish Research & Innovation
Denmark is also a hub for world-class research and education. ECOncrete has a project collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) on the structural and ecological performance of eco-engineering solutions (The Living Ports Project), and is currently working with Danish AI startup Anemo Robotics to monitor marine life on and around ECOncrete marine infrastructure (AI To Monitor Biodiversity).
“We are pleased to have set up operations in Denmark to answer market demand and develop the emerging projects in the region, and are keen to implement and further develop our marine construction solutions that restore and enhance marine biodiversity with local partners.” – Yael Viesel, Chief of Staff, ECOncrete
Science-based research as with DTU researchers are at the foundation of ECOncrete, and we continue to further advance knowledge and develop scalable solutions that protect coastlines, support biodiversity, and enable sustainable urban waterfronts.
An Invitation to Collaborate
Our presence in Denmark marks the next step toward a broader goal: ensuring every element of coastal and offshore infrastructure contributes to ecosystem restoration while protecting communities and supporting economic growth. We welcome collaboration with Danish stakeholders, offshore wind developers, and partners across the Nordics to make this vision a reality.
